Student Discipline Policy for Family Christian Academy
The primary disciplinarian in the school is the teacher. The teacher will administer discipline to the child by having established rules and procedures. Should a student fail to comply with he established expectations, the teacher will deal with the student and the parent. Discipline by the teacher may include:
- Warning
- Elimination of privileges
- Extra work
- Parental contacts
- Referral to office
When a student is referred to the office, he/she will receive a discipline referral slip documenting the offense which will be kept in the child's file. Upon determining the extent of the child's misbehavior from the teacher, the office will decide the course of action to be taken. The child's disciplinary file will be used to calculate the severity of the punishment. Upon this review, the child may receive:
- Warning
- Detention
- Parent conference
- Suspension
- Expulsion
Parents will receive notification of their child's visit to the office to be signed and returned.
