TELEPRODUCTION

Students receive instruction on video camera usage, (videography) content editing, basic broadcast news journalism, and overall television production procedures. They receive instruction in project creation and production while developing new ideas for shows and shorts.

Course Goals

·   Learning how to conduct objective and professional interviews, regardless of topic.

·   Learn correct procedures and techniques in using video cameras to produce usable footage.

·   Building a general grasp of taking video and editing content, both within class and on their own projects.

·   Creating a general understanding of how online content, broadcast television, and films are created and used.

·   Overall instruction on creating a video project from conception to completion.

While executing assignments, the class utilizes Panasonic and Canon prosumer camcorders, Sennheiser and other microphone systems, and Neewer portable light kits.  Students learn to edit videos with AVID & AVS editing systems and software. Over the course of the year, students gain experience in major production positions (reporter, producer, videographer, or editing) based on the strengths they show in the creative process. The class culminates with the production of youth-focused, informative, and faith-driven content towards building an internal, student-driven network.
