FCA basketball is now under the leadership of Coach Steve Rachal.

Year 1 – The Flames went 22-11 led by Phillip George and sophomore Joseph Larson. They won the district championship and lost in the second round of the play offs.

Year 2 -This was the only losing season. The Flames went 11-26. That team was very young, especially under Joseph Larson, Seth Dickey who was out with injuries, and 5’10” Merwin Landry playing center. That year the team was district runner up and lost to Grace Christian in the first round of the playoffs.

Year 3 - The Flames had a stunning turn around with a record of 26-11. The Flames were led by Joseph Larson and Seth Dickey. The team was state runner up and a co district champion team. This team was a 9th seed in the playoffs.

Year 4 - The Flames again were district champions. They made an appearance in the quarter finals. “The best group of kids you ever wanted to coach.” The team was led by seniors Q. Jones, M. Landry, J. Bates, T. Ray, and Junior JJ. Holmes.

Year 5 - The Flames, again were district champions. They made an appearance in the quarter finals again. “I had a chance to coach six wonderful seniors.” The team was led by JJ. Holmes and G. Williams.

Year 6 - The Flames will be on the hunt for a state championship led by Williams, Bates, and Scott.

In the past 5 years, the flames won one district runner up, 4 district championships, and won 109 games.

Phillip George, Merwin Landry, and JJ. Holmes have scored more than a 1000 points.

Gummi Williams is on pace to score 2000 or more points in the 3 years of basketball at FCA.
